Oral Presentation Awards

It was a delight to be part of the 34th Lorne Cancer Conference late last week, and to participate in the face-to-face exchange of ideas with some of Australia’s leading cancer researchers.
As sponsors of the conference’s first Oral Presentation Awards, we were particularly impressed at the quality of the science being communicated by some of our research partners and their peers.
Congratulations to two deserving researchers – Dr Kendelle Murphy and Dr Holly Barker – who took out first and second place in the Awards.
Dr Kendelle Murphy, of the Garvan Institute of Medical Research, received first place for presenting her preclinical research into the priming effects of FAK inhibitors in the treatment of pancreatic cancer. Meanwhile, second place winner Dr Barker, from Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research spoke about her work in developing new treatments for ovarian cancer.
